Self-esteem, love and acceptance

If there’s one journey in life that I would define as my greatest and most challenging, it’s the journey of increasing my self-esteem, self-love and learning to accept myself exactly as I am. It’s this experience which I think places me in the ideal place to be able to coach and support you on your journey to greater self-love.

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”

Ralph Emerson

It is coaching, as well as great support from friends and family, that helped me to know my own worthiness and where I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I love myself just the way I am.

I know I’m not perfect, but I don’t feel that my worthiness or ability to loved myself is based on being perfect.

I am worthy, just as I am.

I am loveable just as I am.

If you desire to be able to say the same about you, then I would recommend coaching to support you on your path.

What I like about coaching (as opposed to counselling) is that it is focused on the future. Sure, we might look back at the past to get insight about why we feel the way we do and to identify negative self-talk, but in coaching, we will focus on where you want to be in the future and what you need to do to get there. This might be a range of things, such as:

  • How you might show more of yourself to other people (not just the parts of yourself you think of as ‘acceptable’)
  • Identifying boundaries you need to have a healthy, balanced life
  • Self-care practices, such as healthy eating, journalling or affirmations you want to say to yourself each day (“I am worthy and deserving of love”)
  • Challenging and changing the negative self-talk about your worthiness
  • Steps to accept yourself exactly as you are – your body, your thoughts, your feelings

My greatest satisfaction as a coach is seeing people step into their own worthiness – they stop sabotaging themselves with negative talk, they make choices from a point of worthiness and they stop hustling for the approval of other people.

It’s a beautiful thing to witness and I hope that I can support you on your journey to greater self-esteem, self-love and acceptance.
